Welcome to Bob Harrington's spartan, 1990's style, W3C compliant web page.
My first Internet experience was on an old Digital machine with an orange monochrome screen that I used to access Gopher and Usenet, so I have a preference for low-resource Internet use. I keep this web page lean and mean, to enhance your browsing enjoyment.
I used to host this web page with the free space my ISP provided, but my current ISP doesn't offer free web space. As a result, the page is now hosted on a server that offers unlimited bandwidth, so feel free to tell your friends about this site.
In the early days of the Web many web pages had a list of links at the bottom of the page. As an homage to the era, I have included my own list.
I have made sure that this page is compliant with World Wide Web Consortium standards. The W3C is the group that defines Internet standards, so if my web page doesn't look right, it's a problem either with your web browser or my sense of style.
My email address is my first name, with the bobharrington.ca domain name. If you don't know what this means, ask a friend.
Occasionally I'll send an email that has been encrypted or signed using secure/multipurpose Internet mail extensions (S/MIME) or GNU Privacy Guard (GPG). Using GPG requires a bit of reading, but my public key is available for those who use it.
If you're using a mail client like Outlook or Thunderbird, my signature will be verified but untrusted, unless you install my CA certificate as a trusted certificate authority in your email client. A bit of Googling should help you do that. If you're using web mail, you're out of luck. You can also send me encrypted mail using my certificate. I will email it to you if you ask.
In case you're wondering, here are the current radio propagation conditions.
I am a member of the Ottawa Amateur Radio Club and Radio Amateurs of Canada. My call sign is VE3OU.
